In the yesterdays stage of the Vuelta a la Rioja, David García got the stage victory. The rider from Xacobeo Galicia  was the fastest in a sprint of 6, a group that was formed 35km before the finish line. The rider from Marín, winner of a stage in the Tour of Turkey and third in the overall, also won the mountains jersey in the Vuelta a la Rioja.

The six riders that arrived to Logroño and fought for the victory after 218km were David García (Xacobeo-Galicia), Angel Vicioso (Andalucía-Cajasur), Manuel Vázquez (Contentpolis-Ampo), Óscar Sevilla (Rock & Racing), David Arroyo (Caisse dEpargne) and Amets Txurruca (Euskaltel-Euskadi), that finished in this order. 4 Catlike sponsored riders out of the 6 first ones.

On her side, Kirsten Wild raced to her second victory of the weekend today winning the Grand Prix Stad Roeselare (Belgium). Second place went to Rochelle Gilmore (Lotto) with third place going to Liesbeth de Vocht (DSB).

"Today we controlled the entire race," said Manel Lacambra, Sports Director Cervélo TestTeam. "We maintained a high speed to prevent any chance of attack and consequently there was none, not even from our team as we were looking for a sprint. In the final Sarah (Düster) did the lead out for Kirsten and again she was the strongest and won the race. Two victories within 24 hours. We are very glad - it was a perfect race from the entire team - everyone did a great work and the victory was our reward."
